TEXAS CREDIT UNION FOUNDATION
The Texas Credit Union Foundation will kick off its “Make The Difference Campaign” for financial literacy in April for National Financial Literacy Month. The Foundation is offering limited number of grants of up to $500 each to support your local financial education outreach programs. The Foundation encourages every credit union AND chapter to focus on financial education in April and to continue those efforts all year long. It really does Make The Difference!
Don't forget that each chapter is eligible to apply for chapter grants as well, to assist with chapter education programs and more. For information on grants and the Make The Difference Campaign, go to www.tcuf.coop.
The Foundation appreciates the generous support from chapters for its annual fundraising campaign, the Financial Education Fund, and its annual golf tournament held each September. Look for chapter recognition in our signage at the TCUL Annual Meeting.
Finally, congratulations again to the Ft. Worth Chapter of Credit Unions receiving the chapter FOCUS Award for its financial education efforts with two partner schools. Members of the Ft. Worth Chapter provide volunteers to teach the Junior Achievement program in each of the schools, thanks to financial support from the credit unions and a grant from the Texas Credit Union Foundation
TCUL 12th ANNUAL SPRING ORIENTATION – MARCH 25-26, 2009
Texas Credit Union League's 12th Annual Spring Orientation will be March 25-26 at the TCUL home offices in Dallas. Featuring more than a dozen unique presentations from the expertly-informed TCUL staffers and professionals, this informative event will give new hires in the credit union world, as well as those in need of a refresher course, the tools they need to succeed.
The first day hits the ground running with a brief introduction and welcome at 9:00 a.m. before going into a series of comprehensive sessions, lunch, a guided tour of the TCUL offices and more. While the day officially ends at 4:00 p.m., attendees will have the option of heading up the street to the Sheraton Dallas North for a networking opportunity. The process starts again the next day with a welcome at 8:30 a.m. and a wide spectrum of presentations to enjoy and learn from. And don?t forget to stick around for the bonus cash-prize drawing all attendees are eligible for at 4:00 p.m.!
Topics to be covered during this two-day experience include the following, and much more:
